ifa Gallery Stuttgart

The ifa Gallery Stuttgart presents contemporary art in a global perspective, addressing post-colonial movements and artistic reflections on the themes of migration and cultural transfer. In times of social and economic transformation conventional ascriptions have become unreliable, and so our exhibitions are based on co-creative processes with global and local collaboration. Different voices are heard as they combine to form a multi-layered shared space in which visitors are included.

The Conflictive and Contradictory
Opening: 1.8.2024
2.8. - 6.10.2024

The exhibition by five young international artists revolves around the highly topical subject of how different realities come into conflict with each other when they meet - how they repel each other or connect via semantic bridges. The artistic positions deal with their origins in colonised landscapes by allowing historical realities to collide through their artistic works. In the exhibition, networks of connections are created that are subject to constant transformation, defy a hegemonic understanding of history and identity and evoke a deeper understanding of our constantly mutating world.

ifa Galleries

Thw ifa Galleries in Stuttgart und Berlin present contemporary art from  a global point of view. The work of the ifa Galleries is based on seeing the world from a diversity and plurality of perspectives, discovering new stories, and shaping emancipatory processes, interactions, and artistic spaces. Our focus is on long-term relationships with artists, partners, and visitors, and our exhibitions and education programmes are developed through practices of collaboration that trace global entanglements and piece them together in new forms of narrative.
