The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen supports exchange and dialogue between cultures through its funding programmes and fellowships. It promotes networking among artists, civil society actors and institutions, and academics, and provides them with places of refuge. With its long-term partnerships, sponsorships and scholarships, ifa contributes to a peaceful and enriching coexistence between people, nations and religions. ifa brings people together.

Funding for Work-Related Stays and Networks in Germany and Abroad

CCP – CrossCulture Programme fellowships offer professionals and institutions in the fields of culture, education, science, art and media an opportunity to broaden their international experience. CCP’s funding helps to build strong civil society networks between Germany and the rest of the world.

CCP Fellowships

CCP Fellowships enables professionals and committed volunteers to work in an intercultural environment for two to three months and to gather new skills.

CCP Synergy

CCP Synergy brings two organisations from Germany and a partner country together. They work in cooperation on a project that brings cultural actors together in dialogue.

CCP Alumni

CCP Alumni promotes the professional development of former CCP scholarship holders and deepens existing cooperations and networks.

Martin Roth Initiative

In many countries socio-political commitment results in personal danger for those involved. The Martin Roth Initiative facilitates shelter for artists at risk.

Elisabeth-Selbert-Initiative

Those who advocate for human rights often face danger and then need protection themselves. The Elisabeth-Selbert-Initiative provides threatened human rights defenders with a safe place to recuperate, cope with trauma, and when possible, to network and further develop their professional skills.

Funding Programmes for German Minorities

ifa supports cultural, educational, youth and media projects run by organisations representing German minorities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Deployment Programme

The skills of professionals from youth and cultural work, cultural management or journalistic organisations of German minorities are supported through the Deployment Programme.

Cultural Assistant Programme

The Cultural Assistant Programme provides financial support for projects by organisations, associations and editorial offices of German minorities.

Project Funding for German Minorities

ifa supports cultural projects as well as educational, youth and media projects of German minority organisations in Eastern Europe and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Job Shadowing Programme

Employees and volunteers from organisations of German minorities can spend up to four weeks at a host institution. The programme aims to offer new impulses for their work and provide further professional training.

Social Media Grant

Taking the community on a journey: with the social media grant, people from German minority organisations can report from their countries in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus or Central Asia and share their experiences.

Sustainable Global Network

Alumni

ifa Alumni are former funding recipients, representatives and experts involved in cultural exchange, dialogue and communication worldwide. They are artists, curators, active in cultural management and in research about culture and foreign policy, and they are committed to the freedom of the arts, expression and information. ifa is dedicated to network with currently more than a thousand alumni in order for them to jointly develop new initiatives and projects.
