Lecture Pro­gramme of the German Federal Govern­ment

Through its Lecture Programme, the German Federal Government conveys a current and multi-layered image of Germany abroad. The forum facilitates contacts with distinguished personalities from the fields of science, politics, media, culture and literature. ifa supports German diplomatic missions in selecting topics, developing concepts and organising events. The lectures are aimed at multipliers, teachers and civil society actors.

ifa began implementation of the Lecture Programme of the German Federal Government in 1995. To date it has organised more than 500 trips around the world.

Environment and climate, Europe, political systems, digitalisation and human rights - the topics are oriented towards current, socially-relevant issues. The topics analysed and discussed include the following:

  • Germany’s contribution to global sustainable development goals
  • International reactions to flight and migration
  • Digitalisation and open society
  • Germany’s contribution to stability and reconciliation around the world
