The Living and the Dead Ensemble

For the first time, the Haitian-born collective The Living and the Dead Ensemble will be presenting their work in a larger exhibition at Badischer Kunstverein. Their work is an intersection of performance, literature and theatre and brings the different sections in relation to one another. Their film Ouvertures premiered at the Berlinale in 2020; various international performances and screenings followed, including locations such as France, Belgium and Switzerland. In 2023, The Living and the Dead Ensemble will participate in the 15th Sharjah Biennial. The project at Badischer Kunstverein is the ensemble's first extensive presentation of their work.
