Four people are seated in a hall. The people are sitting in or next to a wooden kiosk. In the front, there is a large loudspeaker and one of the four people is currently talking into a microphone. It is the opening speech of the ifa-funded exhibition "EL KIOSCO" and book publication of CHILE INTERNATIONAL II. EL KIOSCO

Galería Metropolitana
Félix Mendelssohn 2941
Pedro Aguirre Cerda, Santiago de Chile

A project by Valeria Fahrenkrog as part of the curatorial programme 2022-2023 of GALERÍA METROPOLITANA: The future, where is it?

In the Galería Metropolitana in Pedro Aguirre Cerda (Santiago de Chile), EL KIOSCO becomes an installation that refers to the urban infrastructures, now mostly disappeared, that allowed us to interact with an everyday microeconomy of objects and affects. EL KIOSCO will be adapted to the spatial and temporal context of the exhibition space, where it will function as a platform for encounters, for the exchange of different forms of work, artistic practices and local knowledge. This ephemeral architecture will be activated in a processual, collaborative and cumulative way during the three-week exhibition period.

Participants: Ash Aravena, Claudia Del Fierro, Katha Eitner & Cristián Flores (Proyecto Ärde), Encuentro Curatorial en Contexto, Enrique Flores, Mariairis Flores, Formato Variable, José Miguel Frías, Camila González y Daniela Josefina (Editorial Hambre), Constanza Hermosilla, Cynthia Imaña, David Maulén, Julia Mensch, Marcela Moraga, museo de la democracia, Dani Negri, Monumentos Incómodos, Diego Parra, Juank Pino y los Psycho Winkas, Leonardo Portus, Majo Puga y Nico Preuss (La Kioska Valpo), Revista Coma, Revista de Crítica Cultural, Pierina Rondanelli y Paulina de Pablo Pérez (Radio Humedales) and others.
