ifa Gallery Stuttgart

The ifa Gallery Stuttgart presents contemporary art in a global perspective, addressing post-colonial movements and artistic reflections on the themes of migration and cultural transfer. In times of social and economic transformation conventional ascriptions have become unreliable, and so our exhibitions are based on co-creative processes with global and local collaboration. Different voices are heard as they combine to form a multi-layered shared space in which visitors are included.

SPACEDUMPLING
ELEVEN-DAY KITCHEN CELEBRATION
1.-11.7.2024

OPEN CALL
For eleven days in July the ifa Gallery Stuttgart will be transformed into a kitchen – a meeting place where recipes, meals, and stories can be shared. The programme is centered around cooking evenings during which we will prepare food and celebrate together. We are interested in the dynamics of meals, spices, and stories. These cooking evenings each have three components that are found in countless recipes all over the world: rice, potatoes, dumplings. Do you have a recipe for the best ever rice dish?
Do you know how to make a really special potato salad? Should your grandparents’ dumpling recipe be used again?
We are looking for individuals, group of people, initiatives, and clubs or associations that would like to share a recipe on of our evenings, with one of the core components of rice, potatoes or dumplings of any kind (e.g. ravioli, pockets, samosas, classical dumplings, etc.) and to prepare the dish together with our guests. When the cooking is finished, then stories, music and other contributions are welcome.

If you would like to help to create one of our evenings in this way then please write a short e-mail to homecooking(at)ifa.de with the following details:
→ a short description of yourself (1-3 sentences)
→ which dish you would like to prepare together with the other guests?
→ are there any days between 1 and 11 July 2024 when you are not available?
Deadline: Wednesday 8 May 2024

A fee will be paid and there is a budget for purchasing ingredients.
On Wednesday 15 May at 7 pm there will be a preparatory meeting with all participants at the ifa Gallery.
If you have any questions please contact homecooking(at)ifa.de.

WE ARE LOOKING FOORWARD TO YOUR IDEAS AND DISHES!
