Beginning in 2020, the publication series ‘Culture and Foreign Policy’, founded by the ifa and the publisher Nomos Verlag, will feature dissertations, scholarly studies and collections of articles that examine issues at the interface between culture and foreign policy.
In addition to public diplomacy, soft power, nation branding and the promotion of democracy, the research areas include topics such as post-national cultural policy, international educational and scholarly relationships, and language and media policy. Further focal points of the publications include the future of multilateral cooperation, civil society dialogue, nationalism and conflict prevention.
The aim of the series is to make visible the thematic range of foreign cultural and educational policy and the different research approaches in the participating disciplines. The series thematically ties in with the handbook of the same name, whose third edition was published in 2015 by Nomos Verlag and which is the fundamental work for foreign cultural and educational policy.
