Art from African countries is booming and is as diverse as the individual cultures of Africa. The annual major exhibitions, biennials and current art fairs, such as in Johannesburg, Dakar and Bamako, show a lively art scene and initiate a discourse on contemporary art. The study "The (Re-)Presentation of Contemporary African Art in Germany" provides information on exhibition practice as well as on institutions and media platforms. It is aimed at intermediary organisations of non-European cultural policy, scholars, artists and interested parties who are looking for a compilation of institutions, galleries, publications and artists of African art in Germany.
