Lecture Programme of the German Federal Government

Disseminating positions and best practice from Germany with the aim of collectively shaping the future is the objective of the Lecture Programme of the German Federal Government, which ifa has been implementing since 1995. Ifa supports diplomatic missions in selecting topics, developing concepts and organising events, and facilitates contacts with distinguished German personalities from science, culture, the economy and politics.

The public events organised by diplomatic missions together with local partners are aimed at decision makers from science, the media, the economy and politics as well as civil society actors and a specialised audience. The annual themes are usually linked to current issues, in particular from the context of bilateral relations, and are coordinated between the German Federal Foreign Office and the ifa.

Guests have already included: Hatice Akyün, Marianne Birthler, Udo Di Fabio, Peter Frey, Joachim Gauck, Ulrike Guérot, Ronja Kempin, Beate Klarsfeld, Brigitte Knopf, Matthias Krupa, Ludger Kühnhardt, Constanze Kurz, Markus Meckel, Cem Özdemir, Miranda Schreurs, Wolfgang Thierse, Klaus Töpfer, Günther Verheugen.
