Civil society organisations from Germany and from a partner country of the CrossCulture Programme (CCP) are supported by the CCP Synergy programme to work together on a project and create a lasting network. Funding for short stays is provided to employees of the two cooperating organisations. Aims of the cooperation can be the development and the expansion of joint projects, publications or events. The programme encourages the direct exchange between organisations and helps to bring together civil society actors across borders in order for them to learn from each other.
CCP Synergy is aimed at employees from two organisations who are planning a joint project. One of the organisations must be located in Germany and the other in one of the partner countries listed below. Organisations that are currently establishing contacts or initiating joint projects are expressly invited to apply for the CCP Synergy programme.
If possible, both organisations work in a similar field – thematically or regionally – from one of the following areas:
CCP is reacting to current challenges within foreign cultural and educational policy with changing focal themes. From 2019 to 2023 the focus will be on civic and citizenship education and digital civil society. Within the framework of fellowships and professional events, CCP brings fellows and alumni together and also brings them into communication with partner organisations.
Civic and citizenship education provides both young people and adults with the knowledge and skills that enable them to shape society. Against the background of current challenges such as populism, fake news and hate speech, non-formal political education, especially in connection with digital media, is gaining in importance for an active and democratically organised civil society. People working in civic and citizenship education and pursuing goals in the fields of work listed above will be supported with these key issues.
Digitisation refers not only to technical innovation, but also to fundamental societal, social and political change that proceeds at a rapid pace. In this context, civil society actors are confronted simultaneously with new challenges and with new opportunities. The digital divide that arises between population-groups is an omnipresent challenge of digitisation. At the same time, civil society actors are using digital tools to strengthen the inclusion of marginalised groups. People facing the challenges of digitisation and using its opportunities for the benefit of the wider society will be supported by CCP.
Organisations from the following countries are currently being funded: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Territory, Qatar, Republic of Moldova, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan.
CCP Synergy supports both cooperating organisations with a total of 4,500 euros or 2,250 euros for each organization. For example, this funding can be used to finance employees' reciprocal short visits, fact finding missions, workshops and so on. The exchange covers between seven and 30 days. The funding is also available for the following purposes:
In addition to financial support, ifa is available to answer any further questions and to assist the participating organisations from abroad in obtaining visas for stays in Germany. However, the participating organisations are principally responsible for planning their own trips.
Since the programme is designed for organisations, individuals cannot apply to CCP Synergy.
The call for applications for the CCP Synergy programme will start in February 2021.
All applicants will receive written confirmation or rejection within two months of the submission of their application.
