The young generation of the Tehran Peace Museum (TPM) volunteers are very much eager to learn about different aspects of peace studies. Thus the TPM tries to provide the best educational and exchange programs for them and hopefully they can make changes in their own communities based on the education they've got.
In order to support this process, Berghof Foundation implements international encounters and exchanges of experiences together with qualification measures and work on joint projects with social scientists from Germany and Iran, teachers, social workers, local NGO activists, students and municipal officials. In collaboration with the TPM and Iranian universities a Peace Academy will be built up, which will provide a space for dialogue and reconciliation. Furthermore, civil society actors will be promoted through training programmes and the joint development of curricula and learning materials in peace building.
The project aims to promote a culture of dialogue and peace as well as tolerance, diversity and participation as principles of a society to make an important contribution to a non-violent transformation process.
