Promoting talent for the future

Talent scouting and providing training for young people: the Talent Scholarship aims to support young talent and dedicated volunteers who are members of the German minority and who have previously been awarded an ifa scholarship in the context of promoting German minorities. The Talent Scholarship offers them the opportunity to develop their individual skills and to strengthen their commitment. Following on from the scholarship, the knowledge gained in the process is directly applied within German minority organisations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. 

The Talent Scholarship is funded from the Ilse and Werner Lechtenberg Family Foundation.

Who can apply for a scholarship?

The Talent Scholarship is intended for young talent and dedicated volunteers who have previously been awarded an ifa scholarship for German minorities.

From the following areas:

  • Cultural Assistant Programme
  • Job Shadowing Programme
  • Social Media Grant

What does the funding cover?

The funding comprises

  • a lump-sum scholarship of € 5,000
  • Supervision by ifa for the duration of the scholarship
  • Final discussion
     

Application process

How do you apply for the Talent Scholarship?

As part of the call for applications, interested candidates must submit their own training concept, including a cost calculation.

The training concept must include: 

  • What is the main focus of the training programme (project management / social media / art / culture)?
  • What measures are planned for the training programme? (e.g. travel and accommodation costs for work shadowing, seminars or training sessions) 

An application including a training concept can be submitted via the online application form.

Geschwister Lechtenberg Family Foundation

The Dortmund-based Ilse und Werner Lechtenberg Family Foundation was established on 15 May 2009. The Foundation serves directly and exclusively public-benefit and charitable purposes.

The Foundation’s purpose is to promote art and culture in the sense of promoting German culture and language by awarding scholarships, promoting animal welfare and altruistically supporting persons who are dependent on others' help on account of their physical condition. In the area of artistic and cultural funding, priority is given to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Romania and the post-Soviet states, in accordance with the founders' intentions.
