Cultural Aid Ukraine

Baden-Württemberg takes up offers of help from the cultural scene for refugee artists and their families from Ukraine. Together with the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts Baden-Württemberg, a contact point was established by ifa as an initial measure, which both artists from Ukraine and cultural institutions in Baden-Württemberg could use. The initial project was concluded in February 2023, a continuation is being considered.

ifa - Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen has been active in Ukraine since the early 1990s. It promotes and networks people from civil society who stand up for democracy, freedom of media and press, and human rights. Since 2014, around 20 scholarships have been awarded to civil society actors. In addition, more than 44,000 people have been reached through simulation games and conferences within the framework of the Eastern Partnership and through ifa’s zivik Funding Programme, funded by the Federal Foreign Office. Furthermore, ifa has continued its research activities and academic networking at the interface of culture and foreign policy through the international network International Cultural Relations Research Alliance (ICRRA). Since 1993, ifa has opened 66 touring exhibitions in Ukraine with 120,000 visitors.
