The new work In Between Lines (2022), presented by Saša Tatić at her premiere solo exhibition in Zagreb, at the Žitnjak Atelier Gallery, delves even deeper into the past (to talk about the present) in terms of drawing ties with Kitchen Album, because she consciously uses the iconography of pop culture and its system, in order to simultaneously self-ironize the experience of being relocated from home and face the family expectations of acquiring particular progress and improved quality of life. What is a home anyway? One of the possible answers: it is an experience that grounded us without dependence on the anchorage and at the same time creates space for us to move forward, to travel and return within ourselves, both within ourselves and in the natural and built environment. All the better if the individual, in this case, the artist, is able to cope with this experience with humour and adaptability to the given environment, drawing on what is worthwhile. That is why the Center of the Periphery (Centar Periferije) makes perfect sense to present a work undoubtedly informed by knowledge of both the periphery and the centre, with the awareness of how these concepts are moving and that there are centres on the peripheries, and the vice versa. Building through text and photography, image and receptive spatial installation a character that addresses all these issues at the same time, but does not condemn, although it provokes, the different starting points from which they can be approached. Saša Tatić created a work that conquers public space between the ranks of positions of social power - and affirms the experience that makes the artist ready to deal with them.
