30 Nov 2024
14:00 - 17:00
ifa Gallery Stuttgart
Charlottenplatz 17

A collective exploration of soil:  materials are gathered, (re-)combined, and subjected to processes of transformation by means of unexpected interactions with fire, air, and water, proposed by the artists. The vessels that this group effort creates are not single isolated objects, but rather part  of a whole that also includes the gathered objects (stones nd parts of plants), recalling our connection to the earth and facilitating reflection about moments and processes that join us together. Monai de Paula Antunes is an artistic researcher expanding the notion of infrastructure by producing participatory and interactive artworks that enable decentralisation and connectivity. Silvia Noronha is an artist interested in engaging with material agency in participatory and collaborative processes, dedicated for many years to the research of soil and soil contamination. This workshop was created as part of the residency at Villa Romana, Florence.

ifa Galleries

The ifa Galleries in Stuttgart and Berlin present contemporary art from a global point of view. The work of the ifa Galleries is based on seeing the world from a diversity and plurality of perspectives, discovering new stories, and shaping emancipatory processes, interactions, and artistic spaces. Our focus is on long-term relationships with artists, partners, and visitors, and our exhibitions and education programmes are developed through practices of collaboration that trace global entanglements and piece them together in new forms of narrative.
