"Exile is a Hard Job." Artistic Practice in Exile

Panel discussion as part of the Berlin Days of Exile

Current and former Martin Roth Initiative scholarship holders from Belarus, Russia, India, and from Turkey will present their artistic practice using Nil Yalter's intervention "Exile is a hard job" as a starting point, and discuss the topic of exile and the transformation processes that result from it for artists with Oliver Frljić (Artistic Co-Director of the Maxim Gorki Theatre) and Johannes Kirsten (Managing Dramaturg). They also ask about the extent to which art can contribute to providing new perspectives for artistic practice and life in exile.
