To mark the 10th anniversary of Contemporary And (C&), the platform will present a very special edition of its offline project, the C& Center of Unfinished Business, at ifa Galerie Berlin throughout its jubilee year 2023 until January 2024, with audiences invited to participate in various activations of the space. The first activation takes place on 18 March 2023.

The C& Center of Unfinished Business is a reading room that offers visitors an extraordinary, and also disconcerting, selection of books that are connected to the topic of colonialism in various ways – from the German colonies to Congolese fashion to 21st century capital markets, the reading room stretches the subject to the many different areas that are affected by it. However, it is not about creating a library on colonialism that is consistent and complete, because: when would it ever be? Colonialism is an unfinished business that continues to exist in many ways.

Launched in 2017 at ifa-Galerie Berlin, the reading room returns to its initial exhibition venue after traveling through various art spaces and museums around the world, connecting in different ways with institutions such as Transmediale in Berlin, art space school in Vienna, Musée Les Abattoirs in Toulouse, Para Site in Hong Kong, or the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati. Returning to the Center's first collaborative constellation five years ago, C& will again partner with Each One Teach One e.V. and ifa Stuttgart, and in particular ifa‘s leading specialised library in international cultural relations.
