Join us for an online guided tour across the ARE YOU FOR REAL platform, featuring encounters with artists Tatyana Zambrano and Theodolous Polyviou. In their immersive, computer-generated works, both artists build worlds that renegotiate power struggles and material issues of labour, the body, and identity.
In her work "¡Inmortalidad para todos!" (2023), Tatyana Zambrano imagines a future cryogenic company, conserving the dream of immortality for all social classes. Theodolous Polyviou investigates how power mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion are materialized in architecture, with a special focus on the Cypriot Orthodox Church, in his piece "Transmundane Economies: Bellapais Abbey" (2022).
Tatyana Zambrano (b. 1982, Medellín), is a publicist and visual artist. Her projects mix art and advertising to create political fictions from a female point of view in the Latin American social context. Using parody, absurdity, and irony, sometimes the projects are developed on websites or TikTok, other times through scenarios with videos, merchandising, props, jewelry, 3D printing, and photos. She teaches at the Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad del Bosque in Bogotá and is currently part of the collective Nmenos1. Her work has been recognized at Les Rencontres Internationales New Cinema and Contemporary art in Paris/Berlin, the Getty Research Institute, Salón Nacional de Artistas de Colombia, and BIM Bienal de la Imagen en Movimiento in Argentina. Zambrano was selected for the Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowship program in Stuttgart in 2023.

Theodoulos Polyviou (b. 1989, Cyprus) lives in Berlin. He is the cofounder and former director of the experimental project space Koraï in Cyprus. In 2020 he cocurated the 19th edition of Mediterranea Biennial: School of Waters, San Marino. He has presented his work in solo shows at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, and ZKM | Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe, among other places, and in various group shows, including the Cyprus Pavilion at 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale.

The digital exhibition project ARE YOU FOR REAL enters a new stage: we are delighted to invite you to a six-part online mediation programme of guided tours, artist encounters, speculative writing and listening sessions, and an opening lecture by Nelly Y. Pinkrah.
How do technology, computation, and the sciences shape our understanding of "the real"? And how do we distinguish the real from the merely possible, the virtual, the actual, the magical? Since launching in 2020, ARE YOU FOR REAL has evolved into a resonant constellation of "cosmo-clusters" exploring technology’s infrastructural entanglements, regenerative power, magical thinking, tactical agency, predictive ambitions, and haunted nature. Shaped by its diversity of artistic commissions, the platform contends with digitalization and a reality irreducibly entangled with the online sphere.
Now we invite you on a deep dive into the solar systems gathered by ARE YOU FOR REAL through six guided sessions shaped around world-building exercises and reflections on generated realities. Join in whichever mode feels comfortable: Listen in or actively participate, stay for one or join all six.

With over 20 touring exhibitions currently travelling across the globe and with its diverse event programmes on contemporary art, the ifa links the German art scene with internationally active cultural creators and forms cooperations and networks. The projects, many of which were developed in co-creation with local partners, cover the various disciplines of modern and contemporary fine arts – from current themes in architecture, photography and design to Bauhaus and monographic exhibitions such as Rosemarie Trockel or Marcel Odenbach. These projects generate local meeting platforms and allow international perspectives on topics of global relevance. The ifa also provides loan exhibits to interested museums.
