Spain Foreign Cultural Policy
In general, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for foreign cultural policy in Spain.
In 1991 the Spanish government established the "Instituto Cervantes" as a non-profit public institution whose mission is to promote and increase knowledge of the Spanish language and Spanish culture. There are at present 77 branch offices in 44 countries.
