Iceland Foreign Cultural Policy

Responsibility for international cultural cooperation by the Republic of Iceland rests principally with the Ministry of Education, Research and Culture. Within the framework of its activities, the ministry acts as the country's administrator for culture by coordinating the work of the numerous cultural funds and institutions in the country. Outside Iceland, the most intensive cooperation takes place with the Nordic countries that are members of the Nordic Council and the Council of Ministers. When it comes to inquiries and suggestions from abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alone facilitates contacts.
