Hungary Foreign Cultural Policy
International cultural policy in Hungary is implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage, and the Ministry of Education.
The implementation of cultural policy includes the establishment of Hungarian cultural institutes abroad. These institutes do not have a uniform name; they operate under the supervision of the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage, and their financing is secured with state funding.
The website of the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage lists about 20 Hungarian cultural institutes worldwide. There is a central administration office for these cultural institutes in Budapest.
The Central European Cultural Institute, which was established in 1990 by the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage and receives financial support from the ministry, carries a certain importance.
