For the second time, Abu Dhabi is hosting the CultureSummit. Until 12 April, leaders from the worlds of the arts, media, public policy and technology come together to identify ways that culture can raise awareness, build bridges and promote positive change.

The title of this year’s programme is "Unexpected Collaborations: Forging New Connections Between Heritage and Innovation, Near and Far, Creativity and Purpose". Workshops, presentations and performances throughout the event will examine a number of topics. Among them are changes in the traditional roles and images assigned to women, and activities to counteract art extremism. The focus is on collaborations that combine tradition and innovation.

The first CultureSummit was held in 2017. A total of 450 representatives from 80 countries participated, including former United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Academy Award-winning composer and conductor Tan Dun.
