Learning for Peace

How Failing can get us ahead

International work in crisis prevention, conflict management and peacebuilding is subject to great uncertainties. There are no guaranteed successes, even failures of projects and entire peace missions are always possible. So how can we get better at what we do?

With the Berlin Peace Dialogue, the Advisory Board to the Federal Government for Civilian Crisis Prevention and Peacebuilding would like to focus on learning from experiences as a central component of responsible crisis prevention, conflict management and peacebuilding. Learning from experiences requires an honest approach to and communication of  hallenges and obstacles. The conference will discuss institutional learning processes from individual project Monitoring to evaluations of major international engagements to possibilities for learning at the political level. The Berlin Peace Dialogue 2021 will feature insights from peace activists, international practitioners and policymakers that provide participants with actionable takeaways.
