Music and visual arts are the two facets of Mazen Kerbaj’s work. In the frame of his exhibition ‘In the Presence / Absence of Mazen Kerbaj’ at ifa Gallery Berlin the series ‘Mazen Kerbaj invites X + one’  takes place. In the concert series Kerbaj invites of his close collaborators in Berlin, asking her or him to bring along another musician. The name of the second guest will remain unrevealed to Kerbaj and to the audience until the joint concert. On 19 March, the musician Ute Wassermann brings along a guest to the concert with Kerbaj.

About Ute Wassermann

As a vocal artist and composer, Ute Wassermann is known for her polyphonic and extreme sound language, which she brings into various contexts of experimental music. She develops her performances in the fields of composition, improvisation, performance art and sound art. In the sound spaces which she is creating instrumental, electronic or nature-like noises are produced. She also expands her singing with birdcalls and mouthpipes, field recordings, resonance and loudspeaker objects, as well as with light. As an improviser she regularly performs alone or in fixed groups with musicians from the international scene and performs as a voice soloist at festivals, in museums, art halls and clubs.
