Pädagogikraum, Weltraum, Offices und Generalsekretariat

The entrance and reception of the ifa are located in the inner courtyard of the listed building at Charlottenplatz 17 and are reached via a staircase. There is no elevator or ramp, so wheelchair users cannot pass inside.

Limited barrier-free access to these rooms is possible via a passenger lift in the library at Dorotheenstraße 2. This requires advance notification to the relevant staff or contacting the telephone numbers +49.152 28045695 (24-hour emergency contact) or +49.152 28045017.

On the way there are several corridors with heavy and non-automatic fire doors, which are often locked. It is therefore difficult for people with reduced mobility to reach the ifa General Secretariat and other rooms on their own. However, ifa employees are happy to help.

All floors are carpeted and the corridors and doors are wide enough for wheelchairs, walking frames or pushchairs to pass through comfortably. There are no accessible toilets.
