Decla­ration of Accessi­bility

The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen e.V. endeavours to make its website accessible in accordance with Section 10 (1) of the Federal Disability Equality Act (L-BGG). This declaration on accessibility applies to the domain https://www.ifa.de/

1. Status of compatibility with the requirements 

This website is not compatible with § 10 paragraph 1 L-BGG. The incompatibilities (and/or exceptions) are listed below. 

2. Non-accessible content 

The following content is not accessible because it is not compatible with the underlying harmonised standard EN 301 549: 

  • Some graphics do not have meaningful alternative text. 
  • Many links have no or insufficient link text. 
  • On several pages, links cannot be distinguished from the surrounding text. 
  • On many pages, the contrast between text and background is too low. 
  • Some control elements are not clearly labelled. 
  • Some form fields do not have an accessible name. 
  • The heading structure is not correct as H1 headings are partially missing and there are jumps in the structure. 
  • Some videos cannot be stopped and are permanently displayed. 
  • Navigation with the cursor keys does not work in the submenus. 
  • Some content is not included in the page regions.
  • Not all pages have suitable and meaningful page titles. 
  • The main language of the domain is not set correctly in some cases. 

3. Provision of Eye-Able Assist for barrier-reduced viewing

This website uses Eye-Able® software from Web Inclusion GmbH to provide users with a barrier-reduced view of visual content. Eye-Able® helps to adapt the website to the individual needs of visitors.

The Eye-Able® range of functions includes

  • adaptive font enlargement
  • free adjustment of colour contrasts,
  • a read-aloud function with integrated keyboard navigation,
  • a blue filter,
  • a night mode,
  • an instant view for combining several functions,
  • compensation of colour weaknesses and
  • other functions for a customised view of the website, such as a larger mouse pointer, sans serif font and the ability to hide images, animations and sound.

The corresponding menu can be opened by clicking on the Eye- Able® icon or using the keyboard shortcut "ALT + 1". All functions can also be controlled using the keyboard (instructions via "ALT + F1"). You can find more information at: www.eye-able.com
