Sebastian Körber, born in 1966, is Deputy Secretary General and head of the Media Department at ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen/Institute for international cultural relations)
Sebastian Körner studied Political science, Anglistics and Romance studies in Münster, Triest and Freiburg as well as "Eurojournalism" in Strasbourg and Brussels. Later he worked for the French news agency AFP from Strasbourg and Brussels. From 1998 to 2004 he was chief editor of the journal KULTURAUSTAUSCH – Journal for international perspectives, published by ifa in Berlin.
He is publisher and editor of various publications of the foreign cultural and educational policy and international cultural relationships as for example of the Cultural Report and the EUNIC-yearbook. He worked amongst others as guest lecturer at the university of Tübingen and is board member of the "Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum" (German-American Centre) in Stuttgart, treasurer of the "Stiftung Wissensraum Europa_Mittelmeer e.V. (WEM)" and member of the curatorship of the academy of fashion and design Hamburg/Düsseldorf /Berlin/Munich.
