Christiane Löhr’s drawings may be reminiscent of nature and organic growth, but they are also abstract lines that are driven by their own force and address questions of weight, direction, and symmetry. Her energy fills out the pictorial space on both small and large formats, and ranging from delicate graphite to dark oil pastels. Löhr draws shapes that stay within the borders of the paper and also excerpts from larger networks of lines.
