New Orleans was heavily affected by Hurricane Katrina on 29 August 2005. As a part of the Make it Right project, a housing estate in New Orleans's Lower Ninth Ward consisting of 150 single-family houses built along ecologically sustainable lines is intended to spur on reconstruction in the heavily damaged quarter.

Since 1992 these two pilot projects have been dedicated to continuous and sustainable development in the cities of Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu. The projects call for the step-by-step creation of strategies for improving post-socialist structures that are then incorporated into a fixed planwerk (plan+work). Individual components can successively be taken from the plan and used to realise projects that can spark further momentum.
