TestDaF – Test of German as a Foreign Language

The Test of German as a Foreign Language is appropriate for:
• those who want to commence their studies in Germany and therefore need proof of their proficiency in the German language;
• students who need proof of their proficiency in German in their home country;
• those who need internationally recognised proof of their German language skills for scientific projects or for academic work;
• those from European Union countries who come to Germany as part of the Erasmus or Socrates student program who want to document their progress in German at the end of their stay; and
• anyone applying for a scholarship for university or research purposes in Germany Recognition
The test, designed by the TestDaF-Institute – the central institution for standardisation, quality assurance and development of German language tests – is also recognised as proof of language skills required for admission to any German university. Schedule in 2010

The following form can be used to make a provisional reservation for your desired date.
Documents required for application
• Filled-in application form
• Leaflet for examinees
• Signed TestDaF regulations for examinees (Original and a photocopy)
• Valid identity card with photograph and address (possibly registration card)
• Proof of payment of the examination fee of 175 euros
