Integration and Media

With its work in the area of Integration and Media, the ifa contributes to the process of European integration and to cultural relations within Europe and beyond, while also promoting a positive image of Germany. The Institute supports German minorities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Southeast Europe (SEE), and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in establishing themselves and developing professionally.

As civil society actors, such minorities have enormous potential to build bridges. They are in a position to act as professional mediators between cultures, and can unite us in diversity. To do so, these minorities require adequate human resources and institutions, they must present a confident image, gain social recognition and be involved in appealing programmes. To support this, the ifa provides funding for specific areas through tried-and-tested instruments.
