The Visual Arts Department of ifa devises and organizes touring exhibitions of German contemporary art. These are shown in foreign museums and galleries on tours extending over several years.
The range of exhibitions, undertaken with distinguished curators, is diverse. The focus is on German visual art, photography, film, architecture and design from the 20th and 21st centuries. Intercultural dialogue is enhanced through the involvement of artists and curators who accompany the exhibitions, as well as through a support program of events for each exhibition.
