The purple artificial forest, 2005
Amal Kenawy Born in 1974 in Cairo, Egypt; lives there. Amal Kenawy has created the animated drawings as a result of an eight month long journey to herself. Like in a dream, she writes in a poem, she has created a "purple artificial theatre". Images superimpose other images, merge into each other, melt into new motifs: home furniture, human body parts, a bed surrounded by high-tension poles, hands, legs, a face, a tree, a spider, lilac blots, tree branches growing from legs, the lattice of a cot that turns into increasingly narrowing walls of a staircase leading into the deep of the room… universes-in-universe.de/~
