Nicola Meitzner
Born 1969 in Amberg, Germany, Nicola Meitzner first gained working experience in a photo studio for fashion and advertising in Freiburg, and later obtained a degree in Photography from the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. Since the 1990's she has been working on the subject of Metropolis in Zurich, Berlin, Singapore and Tokyo, exploring urbane life and suburbia. Her style is that of artistic black and white photodocumentary. In her works she concentrates on themes like chaos, density, anonymity and orientation, focusing on the structure of a particular city and its society, sometimes combining the view of a city with portraits.
