Ireland Foreign Cultural Policy
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for the dissemination of Irish art abroad, and in this function, the culture department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs works closely together with the country's embassies and consulates. When it comes to projects in the area of culture, there is close cooperation with the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism, and in the area of research exchanges with the Department of Education and Science.
The Cultural Relations Committee (CRC), whose members are designated by the foreign minister for terms of two years, has an advisory function. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs receives advice in the field of art from the Arts Council.
