Germany Foreign Cultural Policy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is charged with the responsibility for foreign cultural relations.
The implementation of foreign cultural and educational policy is for the most part carried out by intermediary organisations, which make their programming decisions autonomously.
The Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien / BKM) is responsible for the promotion of German film both within Germany and abroad. As the head of a supreme federal authority, the commissioner reports directly to the federal chancellor.
