Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (GSI)

Purpose/Activities

The GSI's European conference and educational centre in Bonn is an independent, non-party, public-benefit institution for political education. It is funded by the State of North-Rhine Westphalia, individual projects are subsidised by the federal government. The GSI organises conferences, symposia and colloquia, workshops and seminars, in Germany and abroad, on a broad range of subjects:

  • European politics
  • new aspects in international politics and co-operation
  • development,North-South politics
  • currect topical economic and social questions
  • politics and the law
  • xenophobia, neo-Nazism (extreme rightist movements), and willingness to use violence
  • French-German co-operation and strengthening of bilateral human relations, especially among young people
  • professional orientation and qualifications
