Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz Foundation

Purpose/Activities

The interplay of forces between "Humanity, Technology and the Environment" is the field to which the Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz Foundation (Gottlieb Daimler- und Karl Benz-Stiftung) dedicates its efforts in promoting interdisciplinary science and research.

Within this field the Foundation initiated and sponsored topics such as "Group Interaction in High Risk Environment", "Inner Clock and Shift Work" or "From Bio-Inspired Logistics to Logistics-Inspired Bio-Nano Engineering".

The Foundation's Fellowship Program supports research projects of German PhD students abroad as well as of foreign PhD students in Germany. The program is open to all disciplines, topics and countries. Applicants are required to provide their own research project and to be affiliated to some scientific institution in the host country.

Scientists from South East Asia meet and co-operate with colleagues from Germany in seminars, conferences and research projects. The Foundation's country-specific programs cover scientific co-operation with Vietnam, Cambodia, North Korea, and Myanmar.
