European House for Culture (EHfC)

Purpose/Activities

The European House for Culture (EHfC) is a cultural organisation initiated by the European Festivals Association (EFA). Its mission is to be a ‘House of Welcome’ – a meeting and working place for networks and initiatives which relate to the cultural sector and to give the cultural sector in Europe a visible space in order to facilitate a stronger voice of the cultural sector in the European decision-making process.

The European House for Culture is created in order to further collaboration and enhance synergies within the Cultural sector by facilitating:

  • the existence of a physical working-meeting-place of the cultural sector (and others) in Brussels
  • the collaboration between cultural and civil society networks and actors in Europe
  • the maximisation of the operational results of synergies within the cultural sector
  • the opening of a sustained dialogue with other sectors and with the European citizens
  • the support and development of initiatives that improve the quality of cultural activities in Europe
