The state subsidy to the budget of the Slovak Arts Council will increase 33 percent – from €15 million to €20 million – to support projects in the field of arts, culture and the creative industries. Representatives from the Slovak Arts Council will elaborate a new concept of support activities to be presented to the general public at the beginning of summer 2017.

The Slovak Arts Council is a self-governing public institution whose main mission is the support of arts and culture with a special focus on diversity. It provides grants especially for the creation, production, distribution and presentation of works of art; supports international cooperation and the presentation of Slovak art abroad; finances educational programmes in the fields of art, culture and the creative industries; and issues grants for individuals who contribute to the development of arts and culture, also by way of research.
