Themes 2009/2010

If the European Union is going to create a Europe of Europeans and a Europe for Europeans, civil society will need to be strengthened and will need to play a greater role in discussions within and about Europe. The Union now has 75 million young people who are of immense importance as they will be the ones deciding what sort of Europe they would like to live in and what role the EU as an institution will play in their lives.
Through its various programs and projects, the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa) helps develop intercultural competence and knowledge about other cultures. These are essential conditions for European integration and the stabilisation of civil society.
